Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Tasks: Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems. Perform scheduled maintenance service. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification. Truck and Transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement. Apprenticeship training: Level four apprenticeship training. Level five apprenticeship training. Area of specialization: Diagnostics. Truck-trailer repair. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Own tools/equipment: Tools.
