Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Tasks: Assemble wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders and barrels. Make minor adjustments and repairs to wood products. Assemble door panels, trusses or modular components to make prefabricated housing. Read blueprints, written specifications and production drawings. Pack items for shipping and distribution. Reinforce assembled products with dowelling or other supports. Install hardware such as knobs and hinges. Inspect wood products for conformance to quality standards. Mark defective parts or products for repair. Trim, smooth, and shape surfaces. Equipment and machinery experience: Power tools. Small hand tool. Nail guns. Precision measuring instrument. Area of work experience: Assembly line. Bench. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks.
