Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Address customers' complaints or concerns. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Valid passport. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
