Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders. Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays. Bake mixed dough and batters. Prepare special orders. Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods. Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards. Operate machinery. Organize and maintain inventory. Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit. Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs. Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand. Remove kitchen garbage and trash. Handle and store cleaning products. Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment. Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware. Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas. Place dishes in storage area. Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors.
