Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Address customers' complaints or concerns. Professionalism in customer service. Load and unload goods. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles). Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Dangerous goods occurrence reports. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trans-border documentation. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer. Tractor-trailer B train. Transportation/travel experience: International. Local. Long-haul. National. Provincial/territorial. Short-haul. Security and safety: Valid passport. Basic security clearance. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Repetitive tasks. Sitting.
