<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p>AJW Engineering is a dynamic structural consulting engineering company involved in structural consulting and detailed engineering design services.</p><p>We are currently seeking a beginner or intermediate structural engineer professional to join our team. We require a highly-motivated, people-oriented individual who is eager to tackle a wide range of design challenges.</p><p><strong>Education:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor/Master degree of Structural Engineering</li></ul><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to work independently on small and medium size complexity low rise residential projects, keeping understandable and clear paper trail, notes, calculations and correspondence.</li><li>Be able to make independent decisions basing on building codes, governing documents and project details.</li><li>Provide detailed and accurate structural design calculations by using appropriate tools and methods as well as keep an accurate record of all the work done.</li><li>Attend site visits and meetings related to ongoing projects for the general review of construction</li><li>Review shop drawings (steel, rebar, core slab, floor layouts and trusses) and design details.</li><li>Prepare written reports and sketches.</li><li>Be prepared to coordinate residential projects with numerous team members.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>1 to 5 years of proven experience relevant to high end single family residential construction in a structural engineering firm.</li><li>Ability to prepare and modify AutoCAD drawings, hand-drawn sketches and details</li><li>Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices and design methods and on hand experience for wood, steel and concrete design.</li><li>Must present knowledge of engineering software and tools ( Wood Works, and SAP2000)</li><li>Thorough knowledge of National and Ontario Building Codes, sections related to the structural engineering discipline</li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, required to compile letters and reports</li><li>Strong communication skills (oral & written English)</li><li>Experience in structural analysis and detailed design of wood, concrete and steel structures.</li><li>Full - G licensed and car for travel.</li></ul><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Salary: $25.00-$37.00 per hour</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Extended health care</li></ul><p>Schedule:</p><ul><li>8 hour shift</li><li>Monday to Friday (some weekends when required)</li></ul><p>Education:</p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree (required)</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>structural engineering: (required)</li><li>AutoCAD: (required)</li><li>Microsoft Word: (preferred)</li><li>Microsoft Excel: (preferred)</li></ul><p><span class="long-word">Licence/Certification:</span></p><ul><li>Driving Licence (required)</li></ul></div></div>
