Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Freight forwarding. Warehouse. Wholesalers. Private sector. Head office. Tasks: Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments. Monitor movement of supplies and materials between departments. Perform routine clerical duties. Prepare and submit reports. Arrange for maintenance and repair work. Ensure proper functioning of equipment. Maintain work records and logs. Organize warehouse and work areas. Perform general office duties. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Co-ordinate activities with warehouse and production units. Compile worksheets and specifications of orders. Monitor production progress. Prepare and maintain progress and other reports. Train workers in duties and policies. Conduct performance reviews. Co-ordinate, assign and review work. Assist with maintenance of communications equipment. Follow-up on issues with work orders. Keep track of shipments. Maintain vehicle operator work records. Process and transmit information and instructions to co-ordinate the activities of vehicle operators and crews using dispatching equipment. Record mileage, fuel use, repairs and other expenses. Respond to urgent calls from individual who find themselves in life threatening situation and who require assistance . Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews and equipment. Establish work schedules and procedures. Contact customers to deliver requested wakeup calls. Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization. Computer and technology knowledge: Dispatch management service software. Word processing software. Electronic mail.
