Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Special education and teaching, general. Early childhood education and teaching. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Child care centre. Tasks: Assess the children's development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to his needs.. Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits. Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor. Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings. Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children. Identify childrens' individual learning needs. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Target audience: Children. Experience with special needs children: Children with an intellectual disability. Children with behavioural issues. Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD). Area of specialization: Pre-school education. Security and safety: Vulnerable sector check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Punctuality.
