Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Odours. Cold/refrigerated. Work setting: Butcher shop. Supermarket and meat department. Tasks: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting. Cut carcasses, sides and quarters. Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat. Wrap and package prepared meats. Remove bones from meat. Weigh meats for sale. Cut poultry into parts. Price meat products. Clean and prepare fish and shellfish. Sell meats to customers. Cut fish into steaks and fillets. Grind meats. Train meat cutters. Make special sausages. Slice cooked meats. Prepare special displays of meats, poultry and fish products. Equipment and machinery experience: Band saw. Manual cutting utensil. Slicing machine. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Support for Veterans: Recruits Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives (for example: job fairs, outreach programs etc.) . Supports Veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the language of the civilian job market .
