From mentorship and training programs to leadership development, you will receive everything you need to succeed.Job DescriptionIn this Counsel role, you will be a member of the Distribution, Innovation/IP and Customer Experience (DICE) Legal team located in Toronto, where you will provide legal advice and support for various aspects of Transformation, Enablement & Customer Experience and Platforms & Technology (TECE-P) at TD ? some of the areas within TECE-P include Innovation, Distribution (incl. phone, digital and ATM channel), Public Affairs, Marketing, data analytics and others. The role offers complex, engaging and meaningful work, with an opportunity to work with and learn from seasoned legal practitioners and leaders from across the enterprise. It is dynamic, with the successful candidate offering support in the important and rapidly evolving fields of technology & innovation, distribution (the channels through which we deliver products and services to customers), Next Evolution of Work and other areas within scope of the DICE Legal Team.Job AccountabilitiesProvide strategic, practical and timely legal advice to business teams, control partners and other internal stakeholders in connection with Distribution (i.e., Phone & Digital Channels), Innovation (e.g. technology, business and process innovation), and Customer Experience projects and initiativesDraft, review and be familiar with applicable terms of use and disclosures, and draft changes to such documentation and procedures when requiredAssess legal and reputational risk of new initiatives or changes to existing products and servicesReview marketing materials relating to these products and servicesAdvise on, negotiate and draft agreements with business clientsBe familiar and stay current with, as well as draft briefings and advise on, evolving laws and regulations governing relevant projects and initiatives, and advise relevant business units accordinglyBuild and maintain excellent, collaborative working relationships internally and externally and regularly advise and collaborate with other representatives of control functions within the bank.Contribute to colleague development within the Legal Department by discussing relevant legal issues or regulatory changes that arise in the context of the team's work or other areas you have experience withOversight of external counsel performing work in areas of responsibilityContribute to high priority special projects and Legal Department initiativesAssisting with knowledge management with respect to advice given and other knowledge assetsJob Requirements A law degree from an accredited law school and qualification to practice law in CanadaVersatile self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a team, and make risk-based decisionsSuperior analytical ability and written/verbal communication skills, both in legal and business settingsAbility to simplify, problem solve, multitask and work effectively against multiple deadlines with speed, agility attention to detailIndependent thinker with excellent judgment who also has strong interpersonal skills and
