*Job Overview*
Join Kingston Road AH team! We are a small, busy and fast paced clinic and are seeking RVT to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing high-quality care for animals and support the veterinarians in ensuring smooth clinic operations.
The role of the RVT requires great versatility, with a focus on delivering excellent client and patient care at all times. Your responsibilities will include client communication, assisting during doctor appointments, handling technician appointments, monitoring surgeries, and caring for hospitalized patients.
*Responsibilities*
Educate clients on essential animal wellness topics, including vaccines, spaying, neutering, nutrition, and parasite prevention.
Provide clear client communication and education during appointments, as well as through follow-up calls and emails.
Safely restrain animals for the doctor during treatments, ensuring patient well-being and using fear-free handling techniques.
- Prepare animals and equipment for surgery
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate medical records
-Provide patient care, including walking, feeding, providing litterboxes, and water, while ensuring cleanliness and comfort throughout their stay with us.
- Confident in anesthesia monitoring and troubleshooting, the RVT will be responsible for maintaining balanced anesthesia using a combination of inhalant and injectable medications.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the hospital
*Experience*
- Certification or Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology preferred
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital is a plus
