*Job description*
We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team. As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures reporting to CFO.
*Responsibilities:*
* Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
* Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of transactions
* Prepare Purchase Orders through QuickBooks as requested by Development team
* Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
* Process and book purchaser deposits in QuickBooks and update information in BuilderLynx
* Manage and reconcile petty cash tracker on monthly basis
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
* Collaborate with internal teams to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making
* Utilize accounting software (such as QuickBooks, or SAGE50) to record and track financial transactions
* Assist with preparation of draw reports and correspondence with Cost Consultants providing information required to finalize draw reports
* Assist with preparation of year-end financial statements for external accountants to prepare and file income tax returns
* Assist with preparation of HST returns on monthly basis and CRA audits
*The Ideal Candidate:*
* Must possess a University Degree/Collage Degree/Diploma in Accounting/Business
* CPA student or equivalent
* Proficiency in using accounting software (such as QuickBooks, or SAGE50)
* Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles and procedures
* Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports
* Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes
* Be able to handle a high level of responsibility
* Time management skills, able to prioritize
*Preferred Skills:*
* 1 yr experience with large-scale corporate finance operations
* 1 yr accounting experience in construction and/or land development
* Knowledge of project accounting
*Additional Responsibilities: Office Administration*
* Perform a variety of general office functions including filing, clerical tasks, mail and courier handling
* Order and maintain office supply stock and organize the work environment on a daily basis to keep professional appearance
* Other duties as assigned
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40,000.00-$57,665.69 per year
