Operates, maintains and promotes school based Career Centre. Works collaboratively with district coordinators, career advisors, school counsellors, career programs teachers, and/or classroom teachers in providing current post- secondary education, scholarship, and occupational information to students, parents, staff and community members.<p>QUALIFICATIONS: <p> Minimum of 5 years recent relevant work experience with knowledge of and/or exposure to vocational, professional and industry opportunities or equivalent combination of education and experience. <p> Familiarity with the Ministry of Education Graduation Program. <p> Good interpersonal, organizational and communication (both written and oral) and industrial opportunities skills. Ability to use judgement and tact in providing information. <p> Ability to organize and present information to a variety of groups and individuals. Ability to act on own initiative and to work independently. <p> Skill in the operation and application of the designated computerized career programs. <p> Knowledge of adolescent behaviour and psychology or experience working with secondary school age students is an asset. <p> Experience and skill in word processing/database/spreadsheet/presentation applications plus the operation of office equipment and audio-visual equipment. <p> Physical ability to perform the duties required. <p> Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work habits. <p> Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.
