Responsibilities
Tasks

Conduct forest inventory cruises, surveys and field measurement

Display spatial data using Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

Help forest managers in planning access routes and forest roads

Measure the density of crop species and the amount of competition present to determine the need for tending operations

Monitor the effectiveness of silvicultural practices

Supervise the construction of access routes and forest roads

Update computerized forest management information system

Use photogrammetric and mapping techniques

Monitor activities of logging companies and contractors

Enforce environmental, fire safety and accident prevention regulation

Develop and maintain computer databases
