Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Metal products manufacturing company. Tasks: Determine materials required. Lay out reference points and patterns. Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently. Study engineering drawings and blueprints. Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures. Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines. Construct patterns and templates. Install fabricated components in final product. Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite. Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Equipment and machinery experience: Brakes and presses. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Hand-eye co-ordination. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication.
