*Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our diverse team of professionals as a private High School Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education that caters to the individual needs of our students. This role requires a deep understanding of various teaching methodologies, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.*
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership:
Collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices aligned with BC Standards and school goals.
Provide guidance and support to teachers in designing engaging and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
Monitor student academic progress and implement interventions as needed to support struggling students.
Lead professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness and promote continuous improvement in instructional practices.
Student Support and Discipline:
Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive student support system, including counseling services, behavior management strategies, and academic interventions.
Work closely with teachers, counselors, and parents to address student needs and promote a positive and inclusive school culture.
Implement disciplinary procedures by school policies.
Administrative Duties:
Day-to-day administrative tasks, including scheduling, budget management, and resource allocation.
Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events to facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
Coordinate standardized testing and assessment programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student academic progress, attendance, and disciplinary incidents.
Community Engagement:
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, community members, and external stakeholders to support the school's mission and objectives.
Act as a liaison between the school and the broader community, representing the school at meetings, events, and outreach activities.
Qualifications:
Valid BC Teaching Certificate.
Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent recognized by BC Department of Education.
Understanding of different teaching methodologies.
Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Approved Leadership.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Adaptable and flexible approach to teaching in a diverse environment.
English proficiency is required.
French is not required.
