*EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY : DEA LIAISON OFFICER * - *IQALUIT - *_*#JB23*_
The Coalition of Nunavut District Education Authorities (CNDEA) is the unified voice for Nunavut?s District Education Authorities.
Reporting to the Director of DEA Development, the DEA Liaison Officer is responsible for providing training and support to local DEA Board members and staff.
*Position is open to *_*bilingual Nunavut Inuit*_*, who are enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement*
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Support the DEA board and staff by providing training, daily support, and research assistance.
* Collaborate to advocate for and elevate DEA needs and concerns, serving as the primary liaison and voice for the DEA with CNDEA and the Department of Education.
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:*
* Comfortable collaborating with staff and boards and providing mentorship and training.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Inuktitut and English.
* Should have in-depth knowledge of Nunavut's educational program, including its policies and practices.
* Confident in public speaking in both English and Inuktitut.
* Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills
* Willingness to travel alone as required.
* Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively within a team structure.
* Self-motivated, independent, and proactive in completing tasks.
* Strong research skills
* Grade 12 diploma is an asset
* Previous experience working with DEAs is an asset.
* Computer literacy and competence with Microsoft Office suite is an asset
*Benefits and pay:*
* *Pay starting at $100,780 + $16,008 Northern Allowance + Cash Allowance*
* *NEBS Benefits plan - Health and Pension (8% employer matching) *
* *Position is based in Iqaluit - No remote possibility*
* Relocation Assistance provided
* Housing is not available for this position - *A cash housing allowance* is provided
