Position: FB 19 - Educational Assistant EA 2, half time <p>Location: Father Beauregard School <p>Hours/Week: 12.5-25.5 Hours per week <p>Start Date: ASAP <p>Closing Date: September 23, 2024 <p>Job Reference: FB19-09172024 Fort McMurray Catholic Schools is looking for a half-time Educational Assistant in ECS.<p>Qualifications: Educational Assistant Certificate or DiplomaRequirements: Support students growth in the areas of cognition, communication, physical and social development<p> Support and/or implement teacher directed programming <p> Work collaborative under guidance of teacher, CST and members of a multi-disciplinary team<p> Implement specialist (OT, PT, SLP, etc) strategies to achieve required goals <p> Able to work with student to implement and support literacy/numeracy <p> Communicate effectively with students using age appropriate positive reinforcements and/or school specific behaviour strategies<p> Work and play at students physical level of their activities<p> Provide support in use of adaptive and learning technologies using a variety of devices and associated programs<p> Swim program, if required<p> Toileting routines<p> Physically handle and transfer students when unsafe<p> Physical ability to lift and move students<p> Provide school directed indoor and outdoor student supervisionEmployee is expected to work with behaviours related/associated with conduct, obsessive/compulsive, trauma and stress related, severe chronic depressive, feeding and/or eating disorders etc. Other behaviours related to ADHD, emotional/behavioural, learning and speech & language-related disabilities, etc may be encountered. <p>The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check. FMCSD will contact past and present employers for references.
