Behaviour Analyst (Term)<p>Special Education and Student Services DepartmentCOMP # 3835655<p>Non-Affiliated <p>Under the direction of the Applied Behaviour Analytic (ABA) Lead, the Behaviour Analyst will act as a member of the Special Education and Student Services department to provide ABA support and services to school teams and students. This includes conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments, developing Behaviour Support Plans (BSP), and teaching/coaching educators to implement plans using a Behavioural Skills Training (BST) framework. The role also includes providing school embedded and formal staff training in the area of ABA. This is a temporary position for approximately 1-year.<p>Responsibilities: <p> Works collaboratively with other professionals including school staff, external providers, and families as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide coordinated support to students <p> Helps to create an inclusive environment that respects and supports diverse learning needs. <p> Provides support to schools in a 3-tier model framework (e.g., professional learning, case conferences, consultation, intervention) <p> Conducts Functional Behaviour & Skills Assessments, synthesizes and analyzes information, and develops recommendations for ABA-based supports and learning strategies <p> Connects and collaborates with parents/guardians to collect information about the students strengths and needs, gain input into the development of supports, and share results of assessments and recommendations for school-based strategies <p> Designs, implements and monitors progress of Behaviour Support Plans in order to maximize learning experiences for students while addressing challenging behaviour <p> Using a Behaviour Skills Training framework, coaches school staff to implement ABA strategies in accordance with consultation recommendations, Behaviour Support Plans, and/or Skill Acquisition Plans <p> Provides clinical direction to Itinerant Educational Assistants when they act as coaches for school-based staff who are implementing formal ABA strategies <p> Acts as a resource to school personnel to assist them in understanding a students difficulties, exceptionalities, and needs <p> Provides ABA training and professional development, at the Board and school level, in order to build capacity of staff in the system and to enhance collaboration between community service providers, schools and Board staff in the area of crisis prevention, positive behaviour supports and ABA <p> Maintain comprehensive records of all assessments and interventions designed for students <p> Remains current with research in the area of ABA and evidence-based teaching practices that are effective for students with ASD, developmental disabilities, and other behaviour disorders<p>Qualifications and Experience <p> Registered as an independently practicing Behaviour Analyst with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario <p> Masters or Doctorate Degree in Education, Psychology, or ABA <p> Completion of a post-graduate studies in Autism, Behavioural Science or Psychology <p> Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis <p> Demonstrates excellence in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis <p> Knowledge of elementary and secondary education in Ontario and relevant Ministry policies and procedures (e.g. PPM 140) <p> Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills <p> Strong public speaking/presentation skills <p> Proven analytical and technical skills <p> Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and time management skills <p> Ability to work effectively as a member of a mulit-disciplinary t
