Jump in and let SunOpta fuel your future!Position Summary:This position is responsible for the safe operation of Packaging Equipment including but not limited to the following; Horizontal Wrapper, Vertical Form and Fill, Cartoners, Pallet Wrappers, Guillotine and Tumbling Drum.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Set up, adjust and operate production packaging equipment according to the production schedule. Trouble shoot equipment deficiencies and assist with corrective action. Ensure proper packaging materials are being utilized according to production schedule. Measure and reduce scrap and rework. Perform basic Quality Control functions, i.e. Carton and Case code verification. Record and document equipment downtime, line efficiency and throughput. Clean and sanitize primary packaging equipment when required. Transport finished goods throughout plant manually and or using powered equipment. Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Policies. Responsible for Food Safety and reporting any non-compliance issues to their immediate supervisor. Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when required. Responsible for ensuring work area is clean and organized. Comply all SunOpta Quality and food safety standards, HACCP, GMPs, Organic, GFCO, SQF, Kosher certificate and customer requirements. All other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Minimum High School 2 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment preferredPreferred Qualifications:Strong knowledge of packaging (manufacturing) equipmentKnowledge and Skills:Ability to use critical thinking to plan and problem-solve Experience with Oracle preferred Good verbal, written and multi-tasking skills, can do attitudeAdditional Considerations:The location for this role is St. Davids, OntarioWork Environment/Physical Demands:100% of the work is performed in a production environment Must be available to work weekly rotating shifts: days, afternoons, nights Must be available to work weekends Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the shift Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or with a team Competency in performing multiple tasks Ability to organize and prioritize Must have
