Job Description Licensed Practical Nurse IPopulation HealthTemporary Call InLocation: Labrador Health CentreThe primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the Public Health nursing team to provide a high standard of care to clients through Public Health programs within Labrador-Grenfell Health. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and reports the Manager of Public Health. Qualifications:" Graduation from an approved LPN education program;" Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL);" Breastfeeding Course/Education, or willingness to complete within a timeframe designated by the employer;" Successful completion of the Provincial Immunization Module or willingness to complete within timeframe designated by employer;" Completion of wound care course or willingness to complete within time frame designated by employer;" Strong computer skills required; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of Meditech, SEINET, and CRMS considered an asset;" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);" Ability to work independently (in some cases alone) with minimal supervision required;" Current driver's license and access to private vehicle required;" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct. Duties: (Included but not limited to)" Participates in the development, revision, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans in Public Health programs;" Completes nursing assessments consistent with scope of practice;" Provides safe, competent, and ethical nursing care, and makes decisions within the LPN scope of practice" Practices independently according to professional and organizational standards;" Documents according to professional and organizational standards;" Maintains competency and updates knowledge by availing of educational opportunities;" Keeps current with changes by monitoring communications (i.e., verbal, email, etc.);" Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities;" Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team;" Completes home visits when required;" Acts as a preceptor for students and other staff when required;" Takes a lead role in the functioning of the vaccine depot, including but not limited to: ordering, receiving, and distributing vaccines, maintaining supplies (vaccine stock, vaccine fridge temperatures, and associated supplies), and engaging with designates throughout the region to plan and implement vaccine shipments;" Provides education sessions and presentations to the public and in schools; " Travel may be required; May be required to work alone;" Other related duties as requiredSalary:" CG-29 of the NAPE-HS salary scales, $29.62 to $32.62 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.Hours of Work:" Variable Hours, Variable ShiftsNL Health Services - Labrador-Grenfell Zone Values Diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.NL Health Services - Labrador-Grenfell Zone is a Smoke and Scent Free Organization.Interested applicants please submit resume, stating competition number 2023000239N
