<p> <p>Haisla Nation Council has a job opening for HCS position: <p> <p> Kindergarten Teacher (fill in Maternity Leave possibility of continuity) <p><p>One Kindergarten teacher is required for the 2020 - 2021 school year to fill a 18 month maternity leave, with the strong possibility of continuity. The successful candidate will be committed to working in a positive team atmosphere to ensure success for all students.<p>Successful candidate will be working and playing in the traditional territory of the Haisla Nation. Haisla Community School offers modern classrooms with state-of-the-art technology, Haisla Language and Culture program, and a nutrition program. The successful teacher will enjoy a wide range of employment benefits and world class professional development support systems through our partnership with School District 82 and First Nation Schools Association.<p>Qualifications:<p>? commitment to active participation in the school and Nations professional learning community<p>to ensure student success.<p>? committed to making collaborative decisions about instructional design and selection of<p>instructional materials based on data related to student learning including teaching Readwell,<p>JUMP Math and other foundational programs.<p>? demonstrated experience and training in differentiated learning, intensive behavioral<p>management and special learning needs.<p>? demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the planning and delivery of the<p>school's goals<p>? recent and successful classroom experiences with multi-grade and inter-class organization<p>? demonstrated effective classroom management skills for maintaining a positive classroom<p>environment<p>? proven interpersonal skills and a high degree of professional flexibility, patience and humor<p>? must be highly motivated and able to work with children in a supportive and consistent manner<p>? knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture<p>? willingness to integrate appropriate technologies into your instructional practices in order to<p>improve learning outcomes is essential<p>? knowledge of and experience with Mind Up, Friends for Life, and DIBELS is considered an<p>asset.<p>? must have or be eligible for BC Teacher Certification<p>? minimum B.Ed. and BC Certification<p>Job duties include but are not limited to:<p>? Consistently complete comprehensive and detailed planning of all curriculum, including daily<p>lessons, day plans, overviews, units and assessment strategies<p>? Complete detailed data/observation driven assessment for 2 oral and 3 written reports<p>? Instructs and supports instruction of identified students, using proven teaching methods<p>? Takes the lead on I.E.P. development, collaboration and implementation.<p>? Schedules and coordinates relevant support staff effectively.<p>? Administers tests to evaluate students? progress, records results, and issues reports to inform<p>parents of progress.<p>? Maintains discipline in instructional setting by applying disciplinary measures when necessary<p>? Meets with students, parents and School Based Team to discuss student progress and goals.<p>? Participates in other staff and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher<p>training workshops.<p>? Performs related duties, for example sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations,<p>and counselling student in adjustment and academic problems.<p>? Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment<p>? Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, school policies<p>and regulations<p>? Participate in extracurricular activities such as DPR, P.E., social activities, sporting activities,<p>clubs<p>? Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make<p>relevant changes to instructional plans and activities<p>?
