*Participant Success Director*
*Overview:*
The Participant Success Director is a full-time position at Urban Squash Toronto (UST), reporting directly to the Executive Director and Program Director. This role is instrumental in delivering comprehensive social work services to youth aged 12-18, while providing counseling and family engagement. The Participant Success Director will also be responsible for supporting students during their transition from high school to post-secondary education and periodically throughout participants post-secondary years. The Participant Success Director collaborates closely with the Program Team to provide quality out-of-school-time programming, emphasizing social and emotional support, life skills development, and guidance toward post-secondary pathways, scholarship opportunities, and overall student well-being.
*Key Responsibilities:*
· Establish a safe and supportive environment for youth, addressing their emotional needs and fostering resilience.
· Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health support as necessary.
· Build strong relationships with students, families, and community partners.
· Facilitate workshops and activities that enhance life skills, including communication, time management, and decision-making.
· Empower students to navigate challenges related to independence, self-care, self-advocacy and personal growth.
· Advocate for necessary student accommodations and resources.
· Collaborate with the Academic Director to assess student academic success
· Directly supports a caseload of all post-secondary students across the Urban Squash Toronto Alumni program.
· Assist students in exploring post-secondary options, including colleges, universities, vocational programs, entrepreneurship and apprenticeships.
· Provide information on admissions requirements, financial aid, scholarships, and career pathways.
· Support students in making informed decisions about their future.
· Collaborate with Academic Director to Identify scholarship opportunities and guide students through the application process.
· Foster a culture of excellence and encourage students to pursue scholarship opportunities aligned with their interests and achievements.
· Collaborate with community organizations, social services, and healthcare providers to address holistic student needs.
· Promote physical health, nutrition, and fitness.
· Celebrate student achievements and milestones.
*Qualifications and Qualities:*
· Social Work Degree/ Diploma or a related field.
· Experience working with diverse youth populations.
· Knowledge of post-secondary education systems and resources.
· Strong communication, empathy, and advocacy skills.
· Experience working with traditionally underrepresented students, demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, strong communication and problem-solving skills; comfort with data tracking and goal setting; strong interpersonal skills with a willingness and desire to engage with diverse stakeholders.
*Hours: *
· General hours are Monday through Friday 10am-6pm, though adjustments are necessary on occasion due to community events, tournaments, and summer camps. The position entails weekend work ? particularly on Sundays during the school year, and travel for tournaments and post-secondary tours during the school year.
