*Job Summary* We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our wellness team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various massage techniques and be dedicated to providing exceptional care to clients. This role requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to enhancing the overall well-being of our clients through therapeutic massage. *Duties* - Perform a variety of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage, tailored to meet individual client needs. - Assess client conditions by reviewing medical history and conducting thorough consultations to determine appropriate treatment plans. - Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sanitized and in good condition. - Communicate effectively with clients regarding their treatment goals, preferences, and any concerns they may have during sessions. - Educate clients on the benefits of massage therapy and recommend follow-up treatments or self-care practices as needed. - Keep accurate records of client sessions, including treatment notes and progress reports. - Collaborate with other wellness professionals to provide comprehensive care for clients. -Therapist must show demonstration on rebooking clients. The initial starting wage - if therapist does not have an existing clientele- is 60$ per treatment hour. If therapist is coming with a clientele, the starting wage is 67$ per treatment hour. A raise is given after three months based on performance and client retention. *Qualifications* - Valid licensure or certification in massage therapy is required to practice in Nova Scotia. - Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is required. - Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients quickly. - Ability to communicate effectively with clients about their needs and preferences. - Previous experience in a spa or clinical setting is a plus but not mandatory. - Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends and techniques.
