Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Workshop. Tasks: Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect motor in operation. Road test motor vehicles . Test automotive systems and components. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems. Perform scheduled maintenance service. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification. Area of specialization: Engine repair. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Accurate.
