Canadian Sleep Consultants is currently looking for a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) to join our growing Sleep team. The successful applicant will be provided with a variety of dynamic learning opportunities in order to advance your knowledge in the field.
*Job Overview*
As a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of Canadian Sleep Consultants by providing exceptional patient care and administrative support. *The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, organized, meticulous with great attentional to detail to be able to succeed in the role.*
A Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for performing day-to-day administrative duties in support of an efficiently operating medical practice. You will work behind the desk and on very limited occasions, with patients assisting the physician or sleep technologists. The Patient Care Coordinator is considered a supervisory role for all intents and purposes, bridging the communication between the General Manager and the front staff, Physicians and clinicians.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform analytical and data entry tasks. *You will oversee the Patient Database tracker and ensure that we follow through with patient care every step of the way.*
* Process incoming referrals, send referral receipts
* Book and confirm appointments and referral appointments, including booking replacement appointments for unconfirmed / unfilled slots
* Working with Medical Director in the triage of patients
* Prepare weekly and monthly reports and track patient progress using the patient tracker database
* Answer phones and process patient inquiries
* Set up appointment schedules and templates
* Manage database for low income patients (i.e., AISH/Alberta Works/SNAP)
* Assist in rooming patients, taking patient vitals
* Fax / scan / link documents to patient records
* Manage office administrative supplies for physicians and MOA staff
* Clean and sterilize materials pertaining to sleep lab devices ( as needed )
* Call for lab results/x-rays etc.
* Processing payments, cash collection and invoicing
*General Knowledge, skills and Abilities:*
* Strong work ethic, with initiative and foresight
* *Strong Proficiency with MS Office software (especially Excel database management) is a mandatory.*
* Good attention to detail, balanced with speed and accuracy
* Able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency with computers including using the internet, the Electronic Medical Records.
* Possess Leadership and Management skills
* Ability to work independently and effective within a multi-disciplinary team
* Familiarity with medical terminologies
* Familiarity with CPAP therapy and equipment an asset
* Experience with JUNO EMR an asset
* Experience with Quickbooks for billing an asset
*Experience*
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Completion of Medical Admin Program an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
