The Nova Scotia Nature Trust is looking for a Content & Marketing Specialist!We need someone with innovative marketing experience with a demonstrated mastery of writing, design and video editing skills. Someone who can find new leads and linkages that cover a range of topics about conservation, climate change, nature, and the environment.This specialist will find the gems in all the work we do and turn them into powerful multimedia content that will motivate support from new donors, enhance engagement of volunteers, and activate land conservation from landowners.They understand the importance of analytics and will monitor the performance and impact of our marketing efforts, adjusting tactics as needed.Does this sound like you?Roles and Responsibilities:Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Lead, the Content & Marketing Specialist will develop, implement and monitor creative tactics to enhance brand awareness of the Nature Trust. This is an individual who can craft compelling narratives; a creative thinker and talented writer who can develop unique messaging, identify media opportunities using a variety of channels, and create marketing campaigns that will inspire action from new audiences. The Specialist has innovative marketing experience with a demonstrated mastery of writing, design and video editing skills who can find new leads and linkages that cover a range of topics about conservation, climate change, nature, and the environment.The Marketing Specialist understands the importance of analytics and will monitor the performance and impact of our marketing efforts, adjusting tactics as needed. This role will also support ongoing content creation for social media and donor communications and will lead episodic organizational projects with a focus on engaging new audiences.This is a hands-on role and its no small task - your job is to inspire nature-lovers, whether or not they already know and love the Nature Trust. You'll find the gems in all the work we do and turn them into powerful multimedia content that will motivate support from new donors, enhance engagement of volunteers, and activate land conservation from landowners. Responsibilities:Oversees development and implementation of creative marketing strategies to support fundraising and conservation goalsMonitors ongoing conservation activities to identify opportunities for compelling stories and marketingIdentifies and implements marketing tactics to enhance brand reach, such as paid advertising, influencer partnerships, magazine articles, promotions for eventsCreates and posts content for ongoing communications tools including digital newsletters, social media, fundraising appeals, campaigns, external advertising and website updatesCoordinates design and production of collateralConducts interviews with supporters and partners and turns them into blog posts, video stories, or other productsSupports relationships for Corporate Social Responsibility and Cause Related Marketing efforts to enhance brand and generate new revenuesPrepares monthly, quarterly, and annual performance analytics for website, digital newsletter, social media and prospecting appeals.Provides design and video editing, and/or oversees external design contractors as needed (including videographers, photographers, graphic design, direct response copy-writers) Leads production of annual assets such as annual report, calendar, donor reports Supports all internal teams for copy-writing, copy-editing, and design as needed for episodic projectsFact-checking communications materials to ensure accuracyQualifications and Education Requirements:Undergraduate degree in marketing & communications, journalism or public relations preferred3-5 years of experience developing and executing marketing / communications projectsExceptional skills as a writer who can adapt style for varied audiences
