With over 20 employees and over 2000 licensed physicians, the CPSNB is currently seeking a Registration Agent to work in a role to support and further the CPSNB's mandate.Reporting to the Director of Registration, the incumbent will work Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Flexibility in hours may be required at specific times and may include evenings and weekends.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Registration Agent is responsible for tasks related to processing applications for registration and licensure and annual licensure renewal and the issuance of certificates of professional conduct. All staff of the CPSNB will be held to the highest standards of ethical behaviour and integrity.Below is an outline of key responsibilities:Maintain confidentialityConduct oneself honestly and ethically in business dealings and when handling confidential informationWork in accordance with the CPSNB's mission, values, mandate, and goalsAll staff of the CPSNB are required to adhere to CPSNB policies.Assess the credentials of physicians applying to licensing and registrationIssue Certificates of Professional ConductPrepare and send annual physician registration renewal packages - including processing of payments and sending receipts and following up on outstanding receivablesEnsure compliance with registration conditions and restrictionsMaintain the Register for all physicians, medical students and physician assistants and provide reports as requestedConsult with Director of Registration to engage legal advisors concerning jurisprudence affecting registration and licensure as neededDevelop and distribute relevant statistical information related to registration / licensureSupport the Registration Committee, the Review Committee and other committees as requiredMaintain and update databaseAnswer phone and email questions relating to registration and licensingWork with provincial Colleges, Medical Council of Canada, hospitals and government regarding physician licensureProvide organizational support to the CPSNB as neededRequired Education and ExperiencePost-secondary education with training in administrative practices or an equivalent combination of education and experiencePrevious experience working in an office-based environment, providing support relevant to duties of this positionProficient with Microsoft Office products and database management systemsPrevious experience dealing with patients or the public is an assetRelevant experience in registering individuals into a regulatory body or like entity is an assetKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBilingualDetail oriented with strong organizational skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent editing and proof-reading skillsExcellent analytical and investigative skillsAbility to interpret, research and apply complex standards to provided informationAbility to maintain a calm demeanour during busy or stressful timesAbility to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information a mustAbility to manage multiple tasks in a timely mannerTeam player who can also work independently and take initiativeAdditional RequirementsIncumbent must reside in the Greater Saint John areaIncumbent must be legally authorized to work in CanadaBenefitsCompetitive salaryRegistered Retirement Savings programHealth, Drug and Dental plan
