These programs ensure that sanitary and storm liquid waste streams are managed by the correct sewer asset, educate the public on responsible sewer system use, and promote coordination of the use and operation of the local and regional sewer systems.The Program Coordinator will play a key role in the successful implementation of various liquid waste projects and programs (e.g. Adopt a Catch Basin, Yellow Fish Program, Sewer Investigation program). The Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, directing and controlling program activities, maintaining project documentation and reports, and engaging with the public. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for managing and growing the ?Adopt a Catch Basin? program. This program encourages members of the community to adopt a catch basin from an inventory of 45,000, commit to keeping the asset clear of debris and notify the City of any concerns requiring Sewer personnel?s attention; Launch, manage and grow the 'Yellow Fish Program', with the aim of raising awareness about protecting our waterways, reminding the public of the connection between drainage infrastructure and the environment; Supports the planning, development and implementation of programs or projects aimed at increasing public awareness of source control programs (e.g. Unflushables, grease management, contaminants of emerging concern, etc.); Provides administrative support and technical assistance as needed on liquid waste programs/projects including completing system analyses and GIS mapping for the Sewer Investigation program; Liaises with Operations (Sewer, Sanitation, etc.) on liquid waste program initiatives and is responsible for monitoring and reporting on initiatives as well as tracking progress in GIS; Identifies project/program improvements and develops or updates work procedures; Conducts research to support existing and prospective projects/programs (e.g. policy research, jurisdictional review, emerging industry initiatives, etc.); Collaborates with Corporate Communication and Metro Vancouver to create, update, distribute and promote liquid waste source control communication material; Organizes and participates at public events to promote liquid waste programs. Events include Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival, Car Free Days, Open Houses, etc. and may occur outside of regular business hours, including evenings/weekends; Responds to public enquiries and ensures record keeping of enquiries, concerns and subsequent resolutions; Prepares reports, presentations, letters and memos for a variety of audiences; and Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications Completion of Grade 12; and Completion of a degree or diploma related to the work plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Understanding of municipal sewer infrastructure; Demonstrated experience managing projects/programs; Ability to establish and maintain effective and pos
