We are seeking a proactive Building Caretaker to maintain our affordable rental properties. This full-time role (Monday to Friday) involves maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs under the supervision of the Property Maintenance Manager. The Building Caretaker ensures our properties are well-maintained and fosters positive relationships with tenants. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, adaptable, and skilled in problem-solving. Building effective relationships with tenants and managing multiple tasks are keys to success in this role. Key Responsibilities: Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, window washing, cleaning laundry rooms, shoveling snow, mowing grass, garbage/recycling removal, etc.Conduct minor repairs as directed.Provide regular updates on maintenance activities.Act as the point of contact for tenant concerns.Monitor building security and become familiar with systems (shut-off valves, heating, electrical, fire alarms).Communicate maintenance schedules with tenants.Assist with suite inspections (smoke detectors, cleanliness, pests).Identify areas for improvement.Perform other duties to ensure a safe and well-maintained property. Qualifications:Proven experience in building maintenance or caretaking.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive tenant relationships.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and manage repairs/maintenance tasks.Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle required.Flexibility in schedule may be needed.
