IScope Concussion & Pain Clinics is Canada?s only national specialty medical and rehabilitation centre housing a specialist-led multidisciplinary team who are ready to address all aspects of our patient's recovery. Our team includes sub-specialized physicians, nurse practitioners, rehabilitation professionals and technologists who are committed to advancing the care of concussion, pain, and neurological disorders. From testing and diagnosing to conducting treatment, we treat all physical, cognitive, emotional, and sleep-related symptoms under one roof.
*JOB SUMMARY*
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Counsellor to provide counselling services to patients in our outpatient clinic setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and providing individual counseling to support patients' mental health and emotional wellbeing. The incumbent will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to assist in recovery planning and treatment of our patients.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Conducting assessments and developing treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
* Providing individual counselling to patients.
* Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes.
* Participating in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development to enhance counselling skills and knowledge.
* Contributing to the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures related to patient care and counselling services.
* Maintaining ethical and professional standards in all aspects of clinical practice.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
*EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:*
* Master?s degree in counselling, Psychology, or related field
* Good standing with professional college or association (BCACC or CCPA)
* Preferred two (2) years related experience, in a Clinic or Community Mental Health Setting, performing client intakes/assessments and individual counselling to individuals and psycho-educational workshops.
* Extensive experience with mental health concerns, behavioural issues, and conflict resolution
*COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:*
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge and competency in maintaining confidentiality of client information according to FIPPA and PHIPA legislation.
* Respond to new client inquiries in a timely manner and provide an overall excellent level of customer service.
* Strong knowledge of community resources
* Demonstrated ability to relate to clients in ways that build confidence and trust.
* Able to work in a highly diverse community with individuals from varied backgrounds and a variety of age groups, presenting with a range of difficulties and personal issues.
* Good judgment, sensitivity, flexibility, discretion, and resourcefulness.
* Ability to communicate effectively with staff and senior administrators about issues facing individuals in crisis and make recommendations.
*OTHER REQUIREMENTS:*
* Clear criminal record check through the Solicitor General
