Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Professionalism in customer service. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles). Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Liquid bulk. Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles). Communication systems experience: Trip recorder (on-board computer). Transportation/travel experience: Local. Regional. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Bondable. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Medical exam. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sitting.
