Education: Bachelor's degree. Urban forestry. Work setting: Municipal government. Tasks: Plan and direct forest surveys and related studies. Prepare reports and recommendations. Conduct advanced research in the areas of tree improvement, nursery seedling production, forest soils, forest ecology, forest mensuration, forest operations and other areas. Ensure adherence to government regulations and company objectives. Establish short- and long-term plans for management of forest lands and forest resources. Staff recruitment and selection. Assist in budget preparation. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Registered Professional Forester (RPF). Computer and technology knowledge: Geographic Information System (GIS). Additional sector experience: Forestry. Area of specialization: Forest physiology. Urban forestry. Tree service. Plant knowledge and identification. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication.
