*Job Summary*
The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and tracking materials, furniture, fixtures, and accessories for interior design projects. This role requires close collaboration with designers, project managers, and suppliers to maintain a steady flow of quality materials within budget and on schedule.
*Responsibilities*
* *Product Sourcing:* Identify and evaluate suppliers, products, and materials to meet project specifications and design standards.
* *Purchasing:* Create and issue purchase orders for various project needs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* *Order Tracking:* Monitor and track orders, coordinate with suppliers on delivery schedules, and ensure timely receipt of all goods.
* *Vendor Relations:* Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable supply.
* *Pricing & Negotiation:* Negotiate pricing, discounts, and payment terms to achieve the best value for the company while maintaining quality standards.
* *Quality Assurance:* Verify that all ordered items meet specified quality standards and resolve any discrepancies or issues with suppliers.
* *Documentation:* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, deliveries, and inventory status.
* *Project Support:* Work closely with the design and project management teams to understand project timelines, budgets, and material requirements.
* *Problem Resolution:* Address and resolve any issues related to order delays, shortages, or quality concerns promptly and effectively.
*Qualifications*
* 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the interior design, architecture, or related industries.
* Familiarity with materials, furnishings, and fixtures commonly used in interior design projects.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Docs and accounting software.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
