*Job Summary:*
The Safety Officer at Tatras Industrial is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across all project sites and within the organization. This role involves implementing safety protocols, conducting training, and overseeing compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, the Safety Officer will assist with HR responsibilities, including hiring, onboarding, and supporting the integration of new employees into the company?s safety culture.
*Key Responsibilities:Safety and Compliance:*
* Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
* Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of job sites to identify hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
* Prepare and review safety documentation, such as Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Safe Work Method Statements.
* Lead safety training sessions, orientations, and toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors.
* Investigate incidents and near-misses, recommend corrective actions, and maintain accurate records of safety-related activities.
*HR Duties:*
* *Hiring and Recruitment:*
* Assist in the recruitment process for field positions, including interviewing candidates and assessing their qualifications.
* *Onboarding and Orientation:*
* Develop and deliver safety orientation for new hires, introducing them to company safety protocols and practices.
* Ensure that new employees are familiar with safety procedures and have the necessary training to perform their roles safely.
* *Employee Support:*
* Act as a resource for safety-related questions and concerns, providing guidance and support to all staff.
* Work with management to address any safety or HR concerns that may arise.
*Project Safety Management:*
* Collaborate with project managers to ensure that safety measures are in place before starting new projects.
* Develop rescue plans and safety protocols for specialized tasks, such as confined space entry or rope access operations.
* Monitor ongoing projects for compliance with safety standards, providing guidance as needed.
*Qualifications:*
* Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NCSO).
* Experience in industrial or construction environments is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including WorkSafeBC requirements.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to train staff effectively.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $72,000.00-$82,000.00 per year
