Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Asset languages: Filipino; Pilipino. Tagalog. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Residential. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Prepare tenders and quotations. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Instruct apprentices. Estimate costs and materials. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Clean and prepare surfaces. Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings. Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools. Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Large workload. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Work under pressure. Manual dexterity. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Judgement. Reliability.
