Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Small engine mechanics and repair technology/technician. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Diagnose and isolate faults on engines and motors. Discuss work with supervisor. Estimate repair costs. Adjust, repair or replace parts using hand tools and equipment. Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance. Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment. Advise customers on work performed and condition of equipment. Clean and maintain work space. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Small Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Diesel engines. Garden tractors. Gasoline-powered equipment. Lawn mowers. Trimmer. Security and safety: Bondable. Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
