Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Document work completed. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Operate machines or equipment which weld, solder, bolt, screw or rivet metal parts together. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Overhead Crane Certification. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Forklift Operator Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Drills. Lifting device. Overhead crane. Saws. Shears. Soldering or welding equipment. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Cutting machine. Punching. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
