Skyway Canada is seeking an experienced *Industrial Sandblaster *to be based out of our shop in Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for set up, operating, cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining all sandblasting equipment.
Skyway provides comprehensive planning, design, project management, material, equipment, and labour for the delivery of Access Scaffolding, Insulation & Abatement, Fireproofing & Painting, Rope Access & Technical services, as well as specialized swing-stage, shoring, safety fence and other construction products for the commercial and industrial construction & maintenance industry in Canada.

*Responsibilities*
· Able to follow, understand and have knowledge AMPP Standards of blast cleanliness (SSPC SP-5,6,10)
· Follow OHS safety standards
· Set up, operate, clean, inspect and maintain all sandblasting equipment
· Utilize all basic hand and power tools
· Grind, chip, mask and prep all metal surfaces
· Clean parts using sandblaster
· Load and unload blast booth with parts and trailers to be sandblasted
· Apply masking materials to protect designated areas from blasting (flange faces, etc)
· Blow the blasted material of any extra grit after completion of blasting
· Hand prep and power tool prep (SP-2,3) as required.
· Punctual and Reliable
*Requirements*
· MINIMUM 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE in sandblasting
· Forklift driving experience and tractor/trailer would be considered an asset
· Overhead crane experience is and asset
· Must be able to work with minimal direction and/or verbal instructions
· CSTS-2020
· WHMIS 2015
· First Aid is an asset
· Past use of BIM collaboration tools
· Basic load path analysis and reporting
· Experience with industrial construction and maintenance
· Operating knowledge of all related tools and equipment and ability to operate in a safe and effective manner
· Organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Must be able to carry and move equipment and use a blast line for an extended period of time in excess of 110 PSI
· Self-motivated, possess strong attention to detail
· Ability to speak and write in the English language
· Physically fit and able to do physically demanding work
Punctual, reliable, and able to work collaboratively with others
Casual blaster positons possible as well

· Must have access to reliable transportation
· Union position
· Pension and Benefits provides
· Afternoon shfit 3:30pm-12am and Night shift (10:30-7) offered.
· Sunday - Thursday
· Shop position but some field work offered
