We are searching for an energetic, compassionate and caring Health Care Aide (RNs and LPNs are welcome to apply) for a casual position in our Adult Day Program and Bathing Program.* *Job Description* *Health Care Aide Responsibilities and Duties:* Enjoy the benefits of this unique workplace. Our established Adult Day Program takes place in a welcoming, home-like setting offering much needed socializing and entertainment for our clients as well as providing a few hours of respite for their caregivers. Our hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4pm. Under the direction of the ADP Coordinator, and in accordance with our clients? abilities, needs and interests, our staff assist with: * Preparation/set-up and clean-up of the Adult Day Program * Transportation to and from the Centre (by Centre-owned vehicles) * Activities of daily living (social engagement, serving refreshments and lunch) * Client?s physical, health, social, and emotional requirements (safety, seated exercises, social engagement, redirection, facilitation of appropriate games and activities to client groups) * Leading out in activities i.e.: reading news, exercises, Bingo and games * Personal care (toileting and bathing-when applicable) *Qualifications Required:* * Certification of Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent * Certificates in First Aid & Food Safe * Valid Class V Driver?s License (no restrictions) * Recent related experience of one year or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. *Conditions of Employment:* * Must possess a Registration number from the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry * Must be in good health, free from any communicable diseases * Recent Criminal Record Check * TB Skin Test & Chest X-Ray if known to be a strong positive reaction * Must have COVID vaccine * Must be physically and mentally able to carry out assigned duties in the working environment (including, but not limited to, daily cleaning, light lifting of equipment, transferring clients, toileting clients and assisting clients to board our bus) * Ability to lead out in activities with approximately 18-22 clients in a group setting * Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing * Ability to observe, recognize and report changes in conditions of the clients * Ability to operate work related equipment * Willingness and ability to work independently and in cooperation with others * Willingness to be flexible with tasks as needed *Submit resume to the attention of: * *Coordinator of Community Bathing & Adult Day Program* Job Type: Casual Pay: From $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 7.5 ? 37.5 per week Benefits: * Casual dress * Discounted or free food * Flexible schedule * On-site parking Schedule: * Day shift * No weekends Licence/Certification: * Class 5 Licence (preferred) Work Location: In person- LocationSaanichton, BC
