*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our dental specialty office. This role requires a strong understanding of dental / medical terminology and proficiency in electronic dental / medical records systems and computer software programs. The Dental Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
*Duties*
- Must be available to work from Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m. (must sometimes be available to stay later as required, i.e., perhaps rarely to 6:00 p.m.).
- Greet patients warmly as they arrive at the office and assist them with check-in procedures.
- Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and manage the office calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries and providing information about services offered.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic dental / medical records systems, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
- Process patient payments and handle insurance verifications as needed.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care and scheduling needs.
- Manage office supplies and maintain an organized front desk area to enhance operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the dental office environment.
*Experience*
- Previous experience in a front desk or administrative role within a dental office is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental / medical terminology is essential for effective communication with both patients and healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in using phone systems, email, computer skills, and other electronic dental / medical record software is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and team members.
- Bilingualism is preferred.
