*Job Overview* We are currently looking to hire an Associate Lawyer of 1 to 5 years? experience practicing in the areas of personal injury, insurance defence and civil litigation. Our associates are involved in all aspects of the firm?s practice and receive on-going mentorship and training. The ideal candidate will have excellent research and writing, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills, sound judgment and a creative approach to problem solving. We offer a competitive compensation package. As a Lawyer, you will be responsible for representing clients in various legal matters, ensuring their rights are protected, and providing sound legal advice. Your expertise in legal drafting, negotiation, research, and writing will be essential in achieving favorable outcomes for our clients. *Responsibilities* * Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and other legal matters. * Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case strategies. * Draft and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and motions. * Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to resolve disputes efficiently. * Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations while providing guidance on potential risks. * Maintain accurate records of case files and client communications. * Collaborate with other lawyers and staff to develop case strategies and ensure comprehensive representation. *Qualifications* * Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. * Admission to the Law Society of Ontario * Proven experience in legal drafting, negotiation, research, and writing. * Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. * Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. * Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines. * Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards.
