McLeod & Schneiderat Lawyers is a law firm with offices in Penticton, Summerland, and Osoyoos. Our firm has a team of five lawyers with hybrid experiences of solicitor and litigation practices and several supporting staff assisting their work. McLeod & Schneiderat Lawyers, in downtown Penticton is seeking an experienced permanent full-time *Litigation Assistant or Paralegal *to work in office. This role will require an individual who has excellent time management skills, is detail oriented and organized. This role will also include significant communications with clients and opposing counsel and an ability to work with different lawyers and other members of our team. Requirements will include work on numerous files in all areas of litigation including Family, Employment and Civil Litigation. Other components of the role include: * Managing and overseeing a very high volume of files * Preparing legal documents such as pleadings, correspondence, applications, list of documents etc. * Reviewing and responding to high volumes of communications on files (mail/email/faxes) * Administrative tasks including scanning, photocopying, file management, billing etc. * Perform court, corporate & title searches and other relevant legal inquiries * Managing and scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, travel and calendar management * Setting court dates and discoveries and communicating with registries * Updating and maintaining client/matter lists * Other duties as assigned We offer competitive wages based on education and experience as well as opportunity for growth within our team.
