Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Cold/refrigerated. Hot. Tasks: Instruct apprentices. Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Verify and repair emission control systems. Perform other routine maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Agricultural Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Diesel engine repair specialization: Lubrication system. Major internal engine repairs or overhaul. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Driver's validity licence check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles. Gloves. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus.
