Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Plastic products manufacturers. Tasks: Develop and conduct production, inventory and quality assurance programs. Design plant layouts and production facilities. Conduct work measurement or other studies. Collect and compile operational or experimental data. Collect and analyze data and samples. Develop manufacturing and processing procedures. Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule activities of production workers who operate processing machines and who fabricate, assemble, finish or inspect plastic or rubber parts and products. Set up machines and equipment. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Monitor and inspect quality of material produced. Prepare and change moulds and adjust equipment for production line change. Supervision: 5-10 people. Area of work experience: Process troubleshooting. Area of specialization: Development of production processes. Development of facilities and systems. Development of quality assurance programs. Work planning, estimating, measuring and scheduling. Robotic equipment and systems. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail.
