For over 35 years we have furnished homes with locally handcrafted Solid Wood Furniture crafted by the area's finest builders.
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Store Manager to work with our Sales team, supporting in a supervisory capacity. The qualifying candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment as we are situated in the St. Jacobs Farmers Market District; ensuring that we experience many busy days!
Responsibilities include working on the sales floor as needed, assisting with custom orders, approving discounts, preparing quotes, conducting product knowledge sessions, opening and closing of the store, balancing cash register and preparing deposits, preparing and posting employee schedules. Reviews invoices for accuracy on custom orders and proper margins. Assist with social media posts and provide input on monthly promotional plans. Ensures website is current and up to date. Works closely with the Delivery Co-Ordinator to ensure customer orders are accurate, received and delivered on time.
*Candidates will possess*:
* Strong Sales techniques with proven Sales record
* Communication and problem-solving skills
* Leadership skills with the ability to train, monitor, mentor and develop the skills of team members
* Solid decision-making skills, including the ability to address unexpected issues in short time frames and understand the impact of one?s decisions on multiple stakeholders
* Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information with the utmost discretion
* Positive attitude
* Social Media and Marketing experience an asset
*Requirements:*
* High school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary education preferred
* More than 3 years of related supervisory, sales/customer service experience, including at least 1 year in a commission based environment
* Furniture industry experience preferred
* Flexible work schedule, Saturday?s are a must
* Ability to assist in carry/lifting/transferring heavy furniture items and to stand for long periods of time
* Computer and technology skills
* Goal oriented and driven to achieve assigned targets
* Experience leading a sales team

Compensation is Salary plus Bonus.
Store hours are Mon-Wed 9am-5pm, Thur 9am-7pm, Fri-Sat 9am-5pm
