Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Consulting firm. Urban area. Tasks: Prepare engineering designs and drawings. Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and systems. Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems. Design power plants, machines and equipment. Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems. Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates. Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Drafting Trade Certification. Certification by a provincial or territorial association. Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Certified Engineering Technologist (CET). Type of drafting: Shop drawings. Detailing drafting. Type of service and repair: Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Computer and technology knowledge: Computer-aided design (CAD). AutoCAD. Autodesk REVIT. MS Office. Specialization or experience: 3D Modeling. Area of specialization: Mechanical. Buildings and structures. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Travel expenses paid by employer. Public transportation is available. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail.
