Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Commercial aviation. Outdoors. Bush pilot operation. Noisy. Aerial surveys. Crop dusting and spraying. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation provided. Remote location. Various locations. Tasks: Fly fixed wing aircrafts or helicopters. Monitor operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight. Report required repairs to ground maintenance personnel. Co-ordinate flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control, inform crew members of flight and test procedures and direct activities of aircraft crew during flights. Conduct in-flight tests and monitor functioning of aircraft equipment and systems during flights. Conduct pre-flight inspection of aircraft and check passenger and cargo distribution to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met. Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions and other information. Maintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters and respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Commercial Pilot Licence - rotors. Pesticide Applicator's Licence. Visual Flight Rating. Equipment and machinery experience: Sprayer or duster. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Overtime required. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Organized. Team player.
