Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of *Food Store Manager *to join our team on a full-time basis at our location in *St. Paul, AB*. Reporting to the Associate Director of Consumer Operations. St. Paul Food Store is the biggest Food Store within Cornerstone Co-op; approximately 130 employees, $31.2 million in sales and has the highest customer count out of all Cornerstone Food Store locations. *What you?ll do:* · Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences. · Model the way of demonstrating day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative?s purpose, mission, values, brand and focus on safety. · Be responsible for communication, planning, organizing, implementation, and execution of business operations in all Food Store commodities, including Grocery, Deli, Scratch Bakery, Meat and Produce. · Be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the entire Food Store Team Leaders and Team Members in all areas of People, Financial, Market Growth, Sustainability, Operational Excellence & Safety. · Ensure department managers adhere to established standards including safe food handling & sanitation, merchandising, health & safety, and loss prevention. · Communicate and consult with Assoc Director of Consumer Operations about daily operations, budget plans, sales, targets and other tasks. · Ensure inventories are managed and protected in compliance with management standards and practises to maintain high levels of accuracy and minimal losses. · Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations. · Be motivated to growing the business and committed to providing exceptional customer service. · Lead the annual planning, goal setting, budgeting, and corporate talent management processes for the Food Store. · Build and maintain relationships with internal & external customers and team members, while ensuring that the administrative requirements of the role are maintained on an ongoing basis. · Ensure employee development and succession planning is a high priority. · Lead a culture of safety through coaching, monitoring and continuous improvement. · Additional tasks as assigned by the Associate Director of Consumer Operations. *Why it matters: *We need you to lead outstanding Co-op experiences. *Who you are as a leader: * · Certifications/ Qualifications: You have a business degree, certificate, CRS Food Manager training or equivalent management experience. 3-5 years of retail management experience preferred. · You have knowledge of commodity sales, gross margin, and inventory management. · Retail experience in a competitive and complex environment is preferred. · Knowledge of the local business environment would be an asset. · You demonstrate initiative and drive for results. · Skills in the areas of: Planning and executing production as well as implementing continuous improvement / changes to procedures / processes. · Ability to handle multiple demands ? adaptable, organized, efficient and committed. · Ability to lift up to 50lbs. · Obtain a Class 5 Drivers License · Computer skills are required ?
