TEACHING VACANCY: POSTING NO. 51 - JUNE 20, 2024 <p>School: Vanderhoof Area, BC <p>Start Date: September 1, 2024 <p> <p>Salary: $60,648 - $114,735 + current provincial recruitment and retention allowance <p> <p>Assignment: 1.0 Continuing Position <p> <p><p> DISTRICT SUBSTITUTE - ASSIGNMENT INCLUDES REGULAR SUBSTITUTE TEACHING WORK IN THE VANDERHOOF AREA <p> MUST HAVE ACCESS TO RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION <p><p> <p>SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT TO BE DETERMINED BY THE PRINCIPAL <p> <p>On days without teacher replacement work, the successful candidate will report to their home school (to be determined), and will be assigned teacher work at that site by the Principal. <p>Nechako Lakes School District gratefully acknowledges that we live, work, and play on the unceded, ancestral territories of fourteen First Nations representing the Dakelh, Nedut?en and Wet?suwet?en peoples. The school district encompasses five municipalities, the Districts of Fort St James and Vanderhoof and the Villages of Fraser Lake, Burns Lake and Granisle. This large area served by our school district has a population of just under 40,000 residents in the beautiful north central BC. <p>We serve 3,000 students in our standard schools and approximately 900 FTE at EBUS Academy, one of the largest online schools in British Columbia. Come and enjoy over 200 lakes, rivers and streams and an abundance of outdoor recreation at your doorstep.<p>Qualifications <p> <p><p> Bachelor of Education (Middle or Secondary).<p> A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare.<p> Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at the junior/senior grade levels.<p> Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences.<p> Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.<p> Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs.<p> Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice.<p> Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies.<p> <p> <p> <p> Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.<p> Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students.<p> <p> Teachers applying for this position must possess the following attributes and commit to: <p> <p> <p> The BC Education Plan and goals of the education system. <p> Supporting every child in learning at high levels.<p> Work closely with parents/guardian and caregivers and the broader community. <p> The Board of Education Strategic Plan.<p> Supporting equity, diversity and inclusion.<p> Ongoing professional learning for the purpose of strengthening student learning.<p> Making evidence-based, collaborative decisions about student learning in a professional learning community environment.<p> Supporting Individual Education Plans (IEP) in a collaborative team environment.<p> The TRC Calls to Action.<p> Integrating Indigenous culture and Ways of Knowing into curriculum and learning activities.<p><p>The district believes that teacher interest in providing extracurricular activities <p>contributes significantly to our students? positive school experience. <p> <p>Teachers currently employed with the district or on the district?s recall list who are interested in this vacancy should email Donna Benson at dbenson@sd91.bc.ca and include the posting number.- LocationVanderhoof, BC
